Our publishing programme includes both Finnish and translated literaray prose, in-depth non-fiction books on topical subjects, and books for the library and information professionals.

The first Finnish work of fiction published by Avain, Elina Hirvonen's debut novel Että hän muistaisi saman (That he'd remember the same), was nominated for the prestigious Finlandia Prize in the autumn of 2005. Its translation rights have been sold to nine territories. The translation rights of Elina Hirvonen’s second novel Kauimpana kuolemasta (Farthest from Death) has sold to six territories.

We are actively selling the translations rights of our books and we are constantly searching interesting foreign titles. We visit the book fairs in London and Frankfurt every year and arrange promotional tours to our authors.
